ARTEM – Seeking Melody in Disruption is a short documentary portrait of Artem, a 19-year-old musician studying violin at the Kyiv Conservatory in the midst of war.
On the morning the invasion began, Artem was preparing for a literature exam at his music school. Instead, he woke to explosions. Since then, air-raid sirens interrupt rehearsals, nights remain unsettled, and the future feels uncertain. His older brother has been mobilized. Inspiration, once constant, has grown fragile.
Through intimate observation and Artem’s own voice, the film explores interrupted dreams, inner restlessness, and the search for creative expression under constant disruption. An encounter with the organization arthelps opens a momentary space for reflection — and for reclaiming sound amid destruction.
Between silence and sirens, ARTEM reflects on what it means to hold on to art when everything else feels unstable — and on the quiet persistence of hope.
