Refuge but not home

As neighboring countries to Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Romania became some of the first places of refuge for people fleeing the war. Together with local partners, Kindernothilfe established emergency support centers that quickly developed into safe spaces for children and their families.

Purpose Stories accompanied Kindernothilfe to these locations to document their work on the ground and make the impact visible.

The journey resulted in a five-minute short documentary, which was presented, among other occasions, at the German Media Award 2022, offering audiences an insight into Kindernothilfe’s humanitarian response and the realities faced by displaced families.
